The Plate Collective is a dining event unlike other dining events. On Sept. 9, six local chefs will prepare a six-course meal at Bay View’s Goodkind (2457 S. Wentworth Ave.) on plates made by artist Kate Riley, of Craft Girl Studio. Riley – whose work appeared in the May 2013 issue of Milwaukee Magazine – collaborated with the participating chefs on plate design. Each course will be served on a Riley-crafted, food-safe piece. The chefs: Cole Ersel of Wolf Peach, Dan Van Rite of Hinterland, Dan Jacobs and Ross Bachhuber of Odd Duck, and Paul Zerkel and Lisa Kirkpatrick of Goodkind. The courses are also a collaborative effort among the chefs. Riley’s pieces are also used at local restaurants c. 1880, Wolf Peach, Buckleys and others. Dinner  is Tuesday, Sept. 9: cocktails at 6 p.m.; dinner 7 p.m. Cost: $100 (pre-taxes and gratuity).  Seating is limited. Call 773-612-8017 for a reservation.
