Have the Sweetest Day
Instead of a bar crawl, how about an afternoon dessert-hopping experience in Tosa? Start at Simma’s (817 N. 68th St.), with the cheesecake encased in chocolate ganache. Next stop, La Tarte (6742 N. Wells St.), where pie is their bailiwick. Try the Granny Smith apple. Continue on to Le Rêve Patisserie & Café (7610 Harwood Ave.), simply the OG for French desserts. Definitely save room for Black Twig Bakery (1455 Underwood Ave.), where the specialty is cookies – decorated sugar and nostalgic monthly sandwich flavors like oatmeal cream pie.

Sip a Brewery Flight
Brewery taprooms are at their liveliest on Saturday afternoons, and Milwaukee’s most walkable cluster of breweries is in Walker’s Point. Start at Broken Bat Brewing (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.) with a Corre Corre Mexican lager, then swing over to Indeed Brewing (530 S. Second St.) for a Pistachio Cream Ale (it’s a banger) and finish at the rebooted MobCraft Beer (505 S. Fifth St.) with its West Coast IPA called We’re Back! All three breweries have lovely taprooms and house-made N/A options.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
Shop Vintage
Walker’s Point is an antiquing paradise. Within 2 miles are enough stores to decorate your home, pack your closet and stock your basement. Start with the spacious (but stuffed!) Antiques on Pierce (1512 W. Pierce St.), a three-floor antique mall. Then make your way to Farm Girl Art and Antiques (803 S. Fifth St.), which has a more curated collection to fit its names. Close your crawl out at Clocktower Antiques and Third Point of View, which share a multi-level building (1134 S. First St.).
Get Your Culture Fix
If your zest for life needs a zap after the workweek, Milwaukee’s many art galleries can do just that. The Marshall Building in the Third Ward (207 E. Buffalo St.) holds a dozen galleries alone, so you could easily spend the whole day there. Check out Portrait Society’s cutting-edge shows, and also the more meditative Kim Storage. A short walk through the Third Ward is rewarded with legacy artists at Tory Folliard (233 N. Milwaukee St.). Then, drive over to Walker’s Point to see burgeoning creatives at Var (643 S. Second St.) and Grove (832 S. Fifth St.) galleries.
