Back in April, when we were looking forward to the sunny summer months cooling off with a scoop of frozen custard, we asked you — our readers — about your favorite frozen custard in the city.
We revealed a few of the results in our City Guide issue (on newsstands all summer!), and here, we’re sharing a few more.
Here are your picks for the best frozen custard in town, and what some of you had to say.
1. Kopp’s
- Many respondents pointed to the “great variety of flavors.” Devotee Kristina Paris calls chocolate truffle “divine and decadent!”
2. Leon’s
- Del Januchowski, a butter pecan fan, calls it a “trip back in time. Park your car, get your order, eat in the car and watch the people.”
3. Georgie Porgie’s
- The custard/burger joint’s tree-fort theme “takes me back to childhood,” says Gina Esch, whose go-to flavor is chocolate eclair.
4. Leduc’s
- Jamie Elftman has been loving the “classic, creamy” chocolate and the to-go pints at this Waukesha shop “since I was little.”
Others receiving votes: Kitt’s, Gilles and Oscar’s
(Note: the top four were featured along with the above quotes in the June City Guide issue of Milwaukee Magazine.)
