Baby safe, Clinton lead increases, Badgers slip in poll

Here’s the news we’re following this morning.

Somebody stole a car with a 15-month-old boy in the back on the Northwest Side Sunday evening, sparking an Amber Alert, but the car was recovered and the child was safe.

Police have identified three women from Chicago killed early Sunday when an Uber car they were riding in was struck by another car running a red light.

A new national ABC News poll puts Hillary Clinton ahead of Donald Trump by 12 points – and finds growing enthusiasm among supporters of the Democrat. And the New York Times reports she’s moving to help other Democrats down the ticket.

The Journal Sentinel’s Craig Gilbert didn’t see much hope for a Trump victory in Wisconsin. He’s doing better than 2012 candidate Mitt Romney outstate, but worse in Southeastern Wisconsin.

In sports, the Wisconsin Badgers football team slipped a place in national polls – to No. 11 – despite its defeat of Iowa over the weekend.
