As shown by our June 2010 “Rock Around The Clock” feature, our 2011 follow up, and the impending update (you know, probably when we’re low on other content), Milwaukee has no shortage of great and diverse places to take in a concert. Thanks to Milwaukee Boat Line and 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, one of the city’s venues has the distinction of hosting bands while both moving and floating on Lake Michigan.
Friday and Saturday nights, beginning June 2 (through September 8), an array of area bands will hop aboard the Vista King to perform as the 80-foot vessel cruises Milwaukee’s shore line at speeds as high as 6.5 knots for two hours. Stylistically ranging from reggae, country, indie rock, pop punk and (puke) cover bands, there’s no doubt at least one booking to fit every amateur Milwaukee mariner’s musical preference.
