Prix-Fixe Summerfest
Coquette usually travels to exotic European locales. For its prix-fixe “travels” menu, it’s however fitting that the Third Ward’s Coquette Cafe is going to Summerfest. Don’t worry – no mozzarella sticks and corn dogs. (Althought I do love a good corn dog…) The French resto is doing a prix-fixe menu for lunch and dinner (June 27-July 3 and July 5-8). The three-course lunch menu ($10) features chilled watermelon gazpacho, a pulled pork sandwich topped with coleslaw and served with bacon potato salad, and rhubarb white chocolate bread pudding with caramel sauce. For dinner, the first and third courses are the same. But the main course is slow-braised BBQ baby-back ribs with sweet corn and pepper relish, bacon potato salad, and coleslaw. Summerfest starts on Wednesday. Hours: Mon-Thurs 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Fri 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sat 5-11 p.m.; Sun 11 a.m.-5 p.m. (316 N. Milwaukee St., 414-291-2655)

Eat Drink Man Woman
The patio at 2014 N. Farwell was once occupied by a margarita-swilling crowd (at the old La Casita) and later, mojito sippers at Sol Fire. As The Eatery on Farwell (the address’ current incarnation), perhaps the most common drink is tap beer. Perhaps not. There is also a wine list – the Wednesday night deal is a $10 discount on bottled wines. And with a new season comes new menu items. The freshest of the fresh: duck sliders, crawfish fondue, seafood nachos, the Outlaw Burger, braised short ribs, stuffed walleye pike, and panko-crusted salmon. Add your preferred drink to the the patio tables. Entrées $8.75-$16.95. (2014 N. Farwell Ave., 414-220-1110)
