Why You Should Try Zip-lining Through the Woods in Minocqua

Gliding through the majestic forest canopy is not just for adrenaline junkies.

Imagine yourself a harnessed, helmeted Tarzan gliding across steel cables suspended from one giant pine tree to another. That’s zip lining, northern Wisconsin-style.

Among the attractions offered at North Woods Zip Line in Minocqua is what they call a canopy tour.

“You literally are zipping in and out of these beautiful, monster pine trees, some of which you’re 50 feet up in the air, seeing the whole perspective of the forest from a completely different level,” explains owner Josh Russart.

Intrigued but a little leery of heights? The company offers zips of varying elevations and degrees of difficulty. From $40 for a kids tour to $179-$189 for the Full Adventure Tour, which includes 13 zip lines. Open year-round.
