1. Anytime Arepas
KATIE WILLIAMS, ASSOCIATE PUBLISHER
Anytime Arepas is so good! They have two locations, Zocolo and 3rd Street Market Hall, both offer delicious arepas.
2. Screaming Tuna
OLIVIA PATEL, EDITORIAL INTERN
My favorite quick bite must be Screaming Tuna. When I’m getting takeout I usually head to the one in Mequon Public Market, because it’s fast. I’m still working on liking raw fish, so I usually go for the vegetarian option

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
3. Xankia
ARCHER PARQUETTE, MANAGING EDITOR
Chris, our executive editor, introduced me to this Vietnamese American spot a few years back, and I remain eternally grateful. The house special banh mi is outstanding – crispy bread, bright flavors, etc. It’s great for a quick lunch when you’re in Westown.
4. Sammy’s Taste of Chicago
MELISA MACKEVICIUS, SALES EXECUTIVE
Sammy’s Taste of Chicago in ‘Stallis is a classic old school hot dog joint. Great Chicago dogs, steamed poppyseed buns and all the Chicago fixings (no ketchup) – or a Maxwell Street Polish or Italian Beef. The whole family is happy here for a quick bite, especially on kid’s game days.
5. Charleston Cafe
SOPHIE YUFA, EDITORIAL DESIGNER
My go-to order is an iced Tiramisu latte and an egg/bacon/cheese croissant sandwich. They serve breakfast AND lunch bites, even flatbreads!
6. Culver’s
ABBY YEMM, SALES EXECUTIVE
I’m a Culvie’s Cranberry Bleu Bacon salad gal, with a large lemonade. Yum!
7. Ally’s Powerhouse Cafe
LISA BAKER, SALES EXECUTIVE
Avocado Toast for breakfast, Mediterranean Chop Salad for lunch and in the winter-Roasted Red Pepper Soup!
8. Outpost’s Sushi Counter
BRIANNA SCHUBERT, ASSOCIATE DIGITAL EDITOR
I love running to Outpost and grabbing the spicy avocado inari – tofu pouches filled with rice and avocado – from the sushi counter. It’s such a refreshing, delish and easy dinner.
