This Bites: Nomad Nacional, the Walker’s Point ‘Pop-Up’ Bar

We got the scoop on the new Nomad Nacional.

This Bites, on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, ends the first week of May with an events-fueled segment, starting with the new pop-up bar, Nomad Nacional (625 S. Fifth St.), which has been soft-opening all week and is doing some cool stuff for Cinco de Mayo. Tarik Moody and I talk about Nacional’s global street food menu, including spicy tempura-battered fish, piri piri wings (in a Portuguese chile-based sauce), chicken satay skewers, Salvadoran arepas and good old American pub burgers.

What else is happening on This Bites? Lots. DanDan’s upcoming restaurant in the old Coquette Cafe space, the various Derby Day celebrations in town on Saturday, May 5, and a few suggestions for local places to take your mom for Mother’s Day brunch.
