The two East Side taprooms are putting the hops -- and the eggs -- into Sunday fun day.

Brunch! This is the year of craft breweries that don’t serve your run-of-the-mill brewpub menus. Two of the newbies, Good City Brewing and Like Minds MKE, are both serving their first brunches this weekend. Like Minds (823 E. Hamilton St., 414-239-8587) is putting the finishing touches on its menu and it will definitely feature a homemade coffeecake topped with Nighthawks crème fraiche and currant-pomegranate compote. (I’m hearing eggs benedict and ham and rolls, too.) Brunch hours are 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

At Good City (2108 N. Farwell Ave., 414-539-4173), Sunday brunch hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., with items ranging from “The Lot” Aussie breakfast burger – topped with white cheddar, beets, grilled pineapple and sriracha Russian and garlic herb sauces – to organic tofu curry scramble. Other intriguing plates: the “big brewery” breakfast (including roasted tomato, GC Detail Porter baked beans, Canadian bacon, sausage and eggs) and smoked eel tamagoyaki omelet (a Japanese rolled omelet) with roasted nori, sambal chili and sticky unagi sauce ($9-$16).
