Ruckus Burger in Shorewood to Close Oct. 21

A burger joint down. The Oakland Avenue restaurant had opened in early 2017.

There’s a lot of burger competition in this town. Was it too much for Ruckus Burger, the Shorewood patty-churro-soft-serve joint in Shorewood (4144 N. Oakland Ave.)? Perhaps.

The restaurant posted sayonara news on its social media and website today. Ruckus will serve its last customers on Sunday, Oct. 21. It opened in January 2017. Per the website:

“After much thought and careful consideration, it is with regret that we have decided to close our doors. We’d like to offer our sincere thanks for your support these past couple of years. It’s been our pleasure to serve you, and we’ll miss being a part of this close-knit neighborhood…”

The Ruckus menu included several burgers, french fries, churros served with a few different sauces, cones and sundaes, as well as sodas and beer. And last spring, Ruckus had introduced boozy shakes.

That storefront faced Metro Market and the busy block of shops bookmarked by the new Blue’s Egg.
