My favorite photo is … dang, that’s hard. It’s probably our November Big Picture – John Hart’s stunning capture of the sun rising behind the Spillover II sculpture. I don’t think it’s as good of a photograph, but the backstory of the August Big Picture – a serene scene of Lake Superior sea caves – puts it right up there. It’s not very often you see a photograph that almost ended up killing someone. (How’s that for a tease?) – Chris Drosner, Executive Editor

How about “photos”? All of the images in our December 2024 desserts feature are simply stunning. – Ann Christenson, Dining Editor

The Picture of Dorian Peep, The 414 opener from the March issue. I was, and still am, obsessed. – Sophie Yufa, Editorial Designer

Dan Jacobs on the June Cover! What a lighthearted, colorful way to capture the summer spirit and the Top Chef zeitgeist. I think I wear the same smile as Dan whenever I look at it. – Evan Musil, Arts & Culture Editor

When we redesigned the magazine two years ago, we introduced “The Big Picture,” a full spread devoted to one of the many awesome photos of Wisconsin our state’s amazing photographers have captured. The feature has netted dozens of fantastic photos at this point, all of which could fit in this favorite photo category, but I particularly liked this drone shot of the Third Ward by Nate Vomhof. It comes at the familiar skyline scene from a new angle, one that reminds me how lucky we are to have this beautiful city. – Archer Parquette, Managing Editor
