The restaurant roll-out is slated for mid-summer.
View MKE ‒ the appropriately named replacement for Brewers Hill’s former Wolf Peach (1818 N. Hubbard St.) ‒ will keep the outdoor patio vibe going and serve seasonal, “globally inspired” cuisine with ingredients sourced (you guessed it) locally. Owner Carl Tomich also operates Stonefire Pizza Co. in New Berlin.
The press release sent out today was vague about the menu (“development is in progress”). Flavors, spices and techniques from Spain, Italy, the Basque Region and the Philippines will all be represented on the menu of appetizers, small plates and shareable platters. The kitchen staff includes head chef Zach Panoske (who has worked as a private chef and in a sous chef capacity at Harbor House) and sous chefs Jerry Feger Jr. (late of Swig) and Paris Dreibelbis, who was part of the recent chef exodus at Ardent.
The restaurant’s GM is Andy Ruggeri, who years ago ran Andrew’s Bar and Restaurant in Delafield and partnered in the Clarke Hotel in downtown Waukesha.
View MKE will utilize the same two floors of dining space (that Wolf Peach did) and of course have a patio.
Hours will include dinner (daily) and weekend brunch.
D-day for the restaurant’s indoor dining room is mid-summer. The patio will be open “later in the season,” per the press release.
