Morning Links for July 29, 2015

Changes at the DNR, more problems at the WEDC, Common Council comments on the Bucks arena deal, and what’s next for the Lakefront Gateway Project.

Good morning, and welcome to Wednesday.

  • The environmental arm of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is shifting focus, instead becoming a “one-stop shop for business assistance,” the Journal Sentinel reports.
  • More bad news for Gov. Walker’s jobs agency, the WEDC: the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism reports that two northern Wisconsin companies have “failed to fully repay the loans or create hundreds of promised jobs.”
  • Common Council President Michael Murphy, Ald. Nik Kovac and Ald. Jim Bohl are made comments about the arena proposal yesterday as it now makes its way to the city level.
