Last year, the second annual Breadfest music festival crammed together 50 (mostly local) bands over three days and 11 venues in the Riverwest neighborhood. This time around, however, that ambitious scope was fairly curtailed, bringing about a more relaxed and focused five-day affair that contains only one or two shows per night. The DIY event, which starts tonight at Foundation Tiki Bar, was put together by Myles Coyne and fellow Breadking Collective members Al Kraemer and Vic Buell IV (both from the psych rock band Calliope) and remains proof that with enough motivation anyone can easily start their own festival.
This year’s line-up offers a selection of beloved local bands like Maritime, Brief Candles, The Midwest Beat, NO/NO, The Fatty Acids and The Midwestern Charm and some choice out-of-towners (Ringo Deathstarr, This Island of Misfit Toys and Mutts). Tickets to the festival can be purchased as single event tickets at the door ($5-$7) or as an all inclusive pass ($30). For your listening pleasure, Music Notes compiled a playlist of bands playing the third edition of Breadfest. You can also check out the entire schedule below.
