Jazz in the Park Preview: Meet The Hot and Dirty Brass Band, June 14

Another Thursday, another wonderful Jazz in the Park musical guest.

Milwaukee Magazine is once again thrilled to be partnering with East Town’s annual event series: Jazz in the Park. Check back every week for a preview of the event’s feature band. See all of our Jazz in the Park previews here.

June 14: The Hot and Dirty Brass Band

For its third week, Jazz in the Park will host Milwaukee’s own The Hot and Dirty Brass Band on Thursday, June 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cathedral Square Park. Self-declared as “Milwaukee’s Own Funky Brass Band,” we doubt you’ll want to be sitting through their performance.

The Hot and Dirty players comprise of trombonist and vocalist Mike Clobes; trumpeter and vocalist Kevin Klemme; tenor saxophonist and vocalist John Vollmar; guitarist and vocalist Dan Johnston; sousaphonist Kyle Samuelson; and drummer Matt Cordier.

Ever since debuting together in 2017, the group always aims to inspire the audience to live their life in a positive way and hopes their music allows them to do so. The group focuses on an uplifting and inspirational spirit of music.

Watch two of their videos below and tell us you aren’t ready to bust a move.
