As Girl About Town, I like to get out and try as many different experiences as possible (and take you along for the ride, of course).
The next challenge awaits me. It’s a seemingly harmless machine, but it looks like it could be a medieval torture device if used improperly. It’s the CoreAlign machine and The Lift Pilates & CoreAlign Studio in Fox Point is the only place in Milwaukee that has them.
Starting July 9, I will be attending two 55-minute CoreAlign classes each week for five-weeks. In conjunction, I will also be following a half-marathon training plan for the Brewers Mini Marathon (13 miles) on September 22. I hope to reach a personal record for my seventh race, which would mean a time of less than two hours.
The whole idea behind CoreAlign is that it helps you strengthen your core and enhance your posture so you can reach peak performance and practice the sports you love more effectively and for a longer period of time without injury.
I’ve never really done pilates and I’m no Prefontaine; I am more a casually competitive distance runner. And because my philosophy is the more the merrier when it comes to exercising, I am extending an invitation to train with me. In fact, I have the insider’s deal – mention “Training with Jenna” when you call The Lift and you can try the CoreAlign program with me for a discounted rate of $206.25 (a 25% savings). Classes are Monday and Wednesday at either 5:30
p.m. or 6:45 p.m. You can call the studio (414) 751-8200 or email Patty directly (patty@theliftpilates.com) to sign up.
Also, I hope you’ll join me for my progressive long runs on Sunday mornings beginning July 8 at South shore Park. Please use the comments feature or email me directly at jlkashou@gmail.com to let me know if you plan on joining.
The countdown to September 22 begins now!
