A Madison TV station says it’s found evidence that the wife of State Rep. Robin Vos (R-Burlington) voted in Wisconsin’s April 3 election “even though she was a resident of Idaho at the time.”
Vos and his wife, Samantha Vos, are apparently estranged, and she filed for legal separation in Canyon County, Idaho, earlier this year, swearing she had been a resident of the state “since early March,” the story says.
Vos was a leading voice in alleging voter fraud earlier this year after Democrat John Lehman defeated incumbent State Sen. Van Wanggaard (R-Racine) in April by a hair.
Democrats are warming to the Vos story. State Sen. Lena Taylor (D-Milwaukee) said today in a statement, “The personal family business of Rep. Vos and his wife are not the issue before the public. However, Rep. Vos’ repeated vilification of innocent voters in recent elections is an important issue … Rep. Vos’ statements become laughable in the face of this serious allegation, the only documented case of potential voter fraud in that county!”
A Vos aide told WKOW that the Joint Finance Committee co-chair was declining to comment, “other than to note the casting of the vote was his wife’s matter.”
And here’s conservative blogger Jim Wigderson’s take on the situation.
