CALLING All Fashion Designers/Artists to be part of RedLine Milwaukee’s RePurposed Runway Design Competition. Designers/Artists will create a fashion forward garment and accessories using any icon as inspiration for their creation. Icons may be drawn from music, fashion, art, business, etc. Garments and accessories must be made out of materials that are used, post consumer, or on its way to a landfill. Use your imagination. The event’s concept is to explore new uses for materials that have reached the end of their life cycle.
RedLine Milwaukee, in all facets, strives to achieve its primary objectives of access, social consciousness, and professional development. The contest will be limited to 24 designers. Applications will determine which 24 designers will compete for a prize package. Applications will be taken from January 2, 2011 through March 1, 2012. Designers accepted into the competition will be announced on March 16, 2012 on the RePurposed Runway Facebook Page. Completed outfits due at RedLine on July 27, 2011.
