DIY Wedding Invite Workshops

Walking into Paper Source at Bayshore Town Center, I was a kid in a candy shop. The craft ideas, the creativity and the cute patterns sent my mind into overdrive. As I looked at the many gifts, office suppliers, organizational tools, paper and gift bags my heart was racing. Never before had I been so excited about paper. But more than a cute shop with a bunch of paper, they are a fantastic resource when planning a wedding.

They have a custom design lounge in the back of the store where you can flip through endless pages of ideas, play with the tools from the demo cart and learn how to use new products.

Paper Source proves that DIY wedding invites are not impossible with the Wedding Invite Workshop on Saturday, April 12, May 3 and June 8, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

At the workshop, learn more about their extensive collection of paper and envelopes, decorative embellishments, crafting tools and online resources. Even if you don’t plan on creating your own invites, see the Wedding Checklist & Stationery Timeline just to be sure you’ve got everything covered. There is more to it than just invitations, you know.

“The hands-on workshop is so nice because you can experiment before you make any decisions,” says Workshops Coordinator Loni Gerlach.  “Even if you walk away with one new idea, it’s worth it.”

The crafting portion of the workshop will go over heat embossing, different types of inks, lining envelopes and putting together an entire flat card invitation suite.

Paper Source also carries card boxes, custom return address stamps, photo albums, guest books, photo books and specialty paper for room decor – suffice to say, they’ve got you covered.

The cost for the workshop is $20, which includes all of of the materials for the day. To make a reservation, call 414-847-1801.
