- So much for flying south for the winter. The storm that many meteorologists have labeled “historic” has virtually shut down the world’s busiest airport, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International. Only 12 percent of its 2,500 scheduled flights are expected to make it in or out Wednesday, and nationwide, more than 5,000 flights have been canceled since Monday. USA Today has more.
- Of course, Milwaukee has its own winter-related transportation problems. Mayor Tom Barrett and other area officials have asked the state to help alleviate the dramatic rise in potholes caused by the unusually harsh winter. Gov. Scott Walker doesn’t sound too keen on the concept. CBS 58 has more.
- That “living wage” ordinance that the Milwaukee County Board wants to enact? Assembly Republican Chris Kapenga of Delafield is rushing through a state bill that would basically nix it. Biz Times has more.
- The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that some 180 full-time city employees have moved out of the Milwaukee since their residency requirement was lifted. The city employs about 6,500 full-time workers.
- And finally, if you’re heading to the Milwaukee Bucks game tonight, bring some sneakers, because they might ask you to play. Injuries could leave just seven healthy players available to take on New Orleans. Fox Sports Wisconsin reports that they didn’t even have enough guys to do a proper practice Tuesday.
