Little DeMarinis Pizza (2860 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) is picking up where its foremother – Mama DeMarinis on Wentworth Ave. – left off. The pizzeria (co-owned by Veronica Cieslak, granddaughter of Mama’s founder) put its pizza pans to work for the time, officially speaking, on Feb. 11. They’ve got the original Mama’s recipes, so this should signal serious Mama’s flashbacks. Pizzas topped with sausage and pepperoni, with all kinds of veggies, even a vegan pesto pizza (sizes: 10- and 13 inches, and 18-by-13 inches). Other classics: onion rings, mozzarella sticks, cheese garlic bread, chicken Parmesan dinner, fettuccine alfredo, mostaccioli with marinara and others ($5.50-$13.75). Italian fish fry on Fridays? Oh, yeah. $10.25 for Italian-breaded, beer-battered or baked cod with fries or potato pancakes, Italian bread and coleslaw. Kitchen hours: Tues-Thurs 4-10 p.m.; Fri-Sat 4-10:30 p.m.; Sun 3-9 p.m. 414-763-5272 for reservations or takeout.
