In light of yesterday’s horrific events in Boston, today’s Morning Links are presented without snark or sass. Here’s what what we’re reading today.  Yesterday’s bombing at the Boston Marathon’s finish line has, appropriately, made headlines everywhere. Three people were killed and tens of others were maimed. The attack is being treated by officials as an “act of terror,” but no arrests have been made.  Actor Charlie Sheen stopped in Milwaukee yesterday to meet Teagan Marti, to whom he gave a dog named Charlie. In light of yesterday’s horrific events in Boston, today’s Morning Links are presented without snark or sass. Here’s what what we’re reading today. 

  • Actor Charlie Sheen stopped in Milwaukee yesterday to meet Teagan Marti, to whom he gave a dog named Charlie. According to TMJ4.com, Marti had been injured and “initially paralyzed” when she fell from a theme park ride in in the Dells. 
  • The Journal Sentinel is reporting that Marquette basketball guard Vander Blue has decided to forego his senior year at the university to enter the NBA draft. The snark and speculation has already commenced elsewhere. 

  • The biggest earthquake in 40 years struck Iran yesterday leaving tens of people dead in Iran and Pakistan, according to The Atlantic. This is the second large earthquake in the area this month. 


Claire Hanan worked at the magazine as an editor from 2012-2017. She edited the Culture section and wrote stories about all sorts of topics, including the arts, fashion, politics and more. In 2016, she was a finalist for best profile writing at the City and Regional Magazine Awards for her story "In A Flash." In 2014, she won the the Milwaukee Press gold award for best public service story for editing "Handle With Care," a service package about aging in Milwaukee. Before all this, she attended the University of Missouri's School of Journalism and New York University's Summer Publishing Institute.
