Milwaukee Magazine Featuring Knitwear by Next Door Boutique

Bless my bosses heart, but when I got the phone call that I’d be the model for our photo spread in Milwaukee Magazine’s November issue, I nearly had a stroke. Secretly, I REALLY have always wanted to be in a magazine…so while I was having an attack about the nervousness I was also thrilled. What was this photo shoot all about? Different boutiques from the Milwaukee area would come together and showcase the latest upcoming trends. Renotta (my lovely boss) from Next Door picked knitwear with fur trim accents. Although I admit I’m partial…she stole the show. Like she always…

Like she always does. If she’s not amazing enough already, she made most of the knitwear our boutique has, by herself!

There’s nothing like waking up at the crack of dawn and needing to be “picture ready”. I thought I did a decent job of curling my hair and applying makeup, but Milwaukee Magazine decided to bring out the “big guns”, which happened to be in the form of Rafael Vazquez of Victoria’s Hair Works. Rafael is a SUPERSTAR stylist (I am a stylist myself, he BLEW me out of the water). He gave me this sexy fro-bob you see in the photo above within minutes with his magic hands.

John Grant did all the photography. Talk about making you feel like you’re just alone in your room, rocking out to Dave Matthews and modeling your “girls nights out” outfit in front of the mirror. I would 100% recommend this man to anyone looking for photo’s to be done. Whether it’s senior pictures, all the way to a model’s portfolio. He’s got an artists eye, and there’s nothing stuffy about it.

Of course, I have to give the ultimate hand to Mitchell Olszweski of Milwaukee Magazine who pulled this all together like a pro. He’s got vision, and is definitely going places. He made this great “behind the scenes” video http://www.insidemilwaukee.com/Article/9212011-FallFabulous of our shoot.

So I’m really excited!! Check out the latest fashions for fall/winter in this coming November Milwaukee Magazine issue! Out THIS week!
