What we’re reading on Friday morning.

The Wisconsin Pirate Party has officially entered the race for Milwaukee County executive. Scoff if you like but they have a coherent platform.

The holidays haven’t changed his mind: Gov. Scott Walker, who hinted in early December that he was considering a run for a third term, is still hinting the same.

Wait, Wes Edens now owns a newspaper in Milwaukee? It’s The Daily Reporter.

In police news, Chief Ed Flynn is being sworn in this morning for a third four-year term. Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Justice is holding a listening session on Jan. 21 for citizens to comment on the department.

This Daily Mail story relies on this inflation-adjusted ranking to argue “The Force Awakens” still lags far behind such woolen classics as “Doctor Zhivago” and “Gone With the Wind” in (adjusted) revenue. Sorry, J.J.
