1. Pink’s Accessible Theater House

1104 W. HISTORIC MITCHELL ST.

Pink Umbrella Theater Co. – founded by MilMag Unity Award honoree Katie Cummings – is moving into its own space. With two theaters for productions and classes, the creative home will be fully inclusive of artists with disabilities. The ribbon-cutting is June 7.

2. La Merceria

1219 MILWAUKEE AVE.

Snag fabrics, ribbons and yarn by the yard at this new crafts store in South Milwaukee inspired by Latin American sewing shops. It also offers workshops and kits for sewing, crocheting, embroidery and more.

3. Baker’s Dozen

Royal receives a puzzling letter, one of many sent by a recently departed friend. As he seeks those who hold other pieces, his perception of her is hauntingly changed forever. This mystery novel by former Wisconsin Poet Laureate Dasha Kelly is out this month.
