14 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: March 5-10

Women’s Month continues with a few beer-related events. And Saturday, Third Space Brewing releases this year’s Mystic Knot.

Tuesday, March 5

Brews and Books happens on the first Tuesday of the month at Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego). From 6 to 8 p.m. you can discuss the book of the month and throw a few beers back in the process.

Wednesday, March 6

Component Brewing is taking over the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) and screening some Tom Cruise films while they’re at it. It all happens from 4 to 10 p.m.

The Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective is taking over the taps at The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.). The night benefits Sojourner Family Peace Center.

The weekly release at 1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is It’s the Fluorescents, a sour IPA conditioned on lime, lemongrass, butterfly pea flower tea.

Friday, March 8

Cafe Centraal (435 E. Lincoln Ave.) hosts International Women’s Night: A Celebration of Women in Bier from 5 to 7 p.m. Hear from women in the beer industry and drink beers made by or inspired by women.

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) is releasing Like A Girl, an IPA made by women brewers and the Pink Boots Society.

A puppy shower is going on at Ope! Brewing Co. (6751 W. National Ave.) from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring a gift to help out Rescue Gang and maybe even find a puppy to adopt.


It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

 

Saturday, March 9

Mystic Knot, the barrel-aged Irish-style coffee stout from Third Space is being released at 1 p.m. Three variants this year are Mystic Shamrock, made with chocolate and mint, Mystic Chai, made with chai tea spices and Mystic Double Shot Bourbon, aged in Heaven Hill and Central Standard bourbon barrels. Preorder is available.

For the 24th year, Food & Froth is happening at the Milwaukee Public Museum (800 W. Wells St.). From 7 to 10 p.m. (6 p.m. start for VIPs) you can sample food and beer from more than 70 local vendors, and benefit the museum while doing it. Tickets are $100 for general admission and $175 for VIP.

Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) hosts BigWigs Pink Wigs runway dance competition at 3 p.m. Models will strut their stuff all to help benefit Susan G. Komen.

The weekly release at Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is Floating on a Cloud, a New England IPA.

Try samples from Badger State Brewing and Belgian ales from Chouffe at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from noon to 2 p.m.

Chouffe Belgian ales will be available for sampling at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday, March 10

Learn how to make an amazing meat and cheese board at the Charcuter-Me Workshop at Ope! Brewing. Tickets are $80 and time slots are available at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
