12 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: April 7-12

Happy National Beer Day! It kicks off a full week of beer events including a Broken Bat anniversary and Doughnut Don Day at Vennture.

Tuesday, April 7

Beer historian Jeff Enders will be at Lion’s Tail Brewing (8520 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa) at 7 p.m. with a talk about the history of brewing in Wauwatosa. The history lesson costs $20 and includes a free beer.

Wednesday, April 8

The Milwaukee Beer Society takes a field trip to Centraal Grand Cafe and Tappery (2306 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) at 6 p.m. For $20 you get to sample nine beers.

Thursday, April 9

Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) is pouring samples from Explorium Brewpub from 3 to 6 p.m.

Friday, April 10

North Pillar Brewing is handing out samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from 3 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, April 11

Broken Bat Brewing (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.) celebrates its ninth anniversary by throwing a beach party from noon to 10 p.m. They’re releasing three new beers and having a Wiffle Ball home run derby.

Doughnut Don day is back at Vennture Brew Co.  (5519 W. North Ave.) with the annual release of the imperial cruller stout collaboration with North Avenue neighbor Cranky Al’s. There are four variants this year plus Jeelly Filled, a blueberry lemonade pastry sour. The party begins at noon.

It’s Halfway to Oktoberfest at the Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Ave., Glendale). That means deals on beers including a free keg of Oktoberfest beer that’s being tapped at 3 p.m. They’ll also have live music and stein hoisting competitions.

It’s also Halfway to Limb Shaker Day at Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.), which will be pouring a barrel-aged version of its Belgian tripel made with Door County cherries, as well as the standard 2025 Limb Shaker. It all happens from 2 to 10 p.m.

Head up to 3 Sheeps Brewing (1837 North Ave., Sheboygan) at noon for the Shorts & Hoodies release party. Wear your best shorts and hoodie combo and get $1 off of your first pint. They’ll be pouring Shorts & Hoodies pilsner and having a tongue-in-cheek fashion show at 4 p.m.

Discount Liquor offers samples from Leinenkugel’s at both locations – from noon to 3 p.m. at the Milwaukee store and from noon to 2 p.m. in Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.).

Sunday, April 12

An all-pork meat raffle is coming to Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) courtesy of Prairie Fresh. The fun benefits the Hunger Task Force. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the first drawing is at 2 p.m.

Saturday, April 18: The annual Joint Beer Fest takes place at Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego). This year’s lineup features a mix of producers, from breweries like Young Blood and Ohio’s Dankhouse to J Henry & Sons distillery and Drinkin’ Buds Beverages. More details on the event page.

Saturday, April 25: Kegel’s Inn (5901 W. National Ave., West Allis) hosts Bockbierfest from 4 to 10 p.m. There will be beer poking, the blessing of the bock, music and the release Hofbräu Maibock.

Saturday, May 30: The eighth year of Lager & Friends is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. The beer fest at Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna St.) highlights lagers from several standout breweries.

Saturday, May 30: Sheboygan’s 3 Sheeps Brewing celebrates its 14th anniversary with live music, food vendors, a sale of vintage barrel-aged bottles and more.

Saturday, June 13: Sip and Savor Wisconsin (formerly the Wisconsin Beer Lovers Fest) comes to The Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd., Glendale) and the pavilion in its Old Heidelberg Park beer garden. Sample beer, wine, spirits and food from some of Wisconsin’s best artisan makers. Tickets start at $70.
