Where to Dine Out for Father’s Day 2024

Be it brunch, lunch or dinner, here are some specials for Father’s Day this year.

Sure, you can take Dad to watch the Brewers play the Cincinnati Reds or chat up artists at Milwaukee Art Museum’s Lakefront Festival of Art, but what guy doesn’t want to be treated with a meal? From a Bavarian-style beer hall to pancakes as big as your plate, not to mention yoga paired with Bloody Mary, here are special Father’s Day brunches, lunches and dinners in the Milwaukee area you don’t want to miss. This year, Father’s Day is Sunday, June 16.


It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

 

1. The Bavarian Bierhaus

700 W. LEXINGTON BLVD., GLENDALE

Check out this German restaurant’s annual pig and chicken roast in its Heidelberg Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., paired with live music by Alte Kameraden (plays German-style, danceable music) between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. All Dads get a free liter of beer.

2. The Explorium Brewpub

143 W. ST. PAUL AVE. AND 5300 S. 76TH ST., GREENDALE

On Father’s Day, $12 gets you a burger and a beer at both locations for The Explorium Brewpub. One’s in the Third Ward and the other’s on the West end of Southridge Mall, near Macy’s. If there are kids in your party, they get free root beer.

3. Lowlands Group

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

All four concepts within this restaurant group – Bucktabon Tavern & Supper Club, Café Benelux, Café Hollander and Centraal Grand Café & Tappery – are introducing new items on their brunch menu on Father’s Day weekend. During brunch service (8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 15 and 16), feast on beef and andouille breakfast burrito at Café Hollander, ham and burrata toast at Bucktabon Tavern & Social Club, pulled beef brisket at Centraal Grand Café & Tappery and short rib breakfast sandwich at Café Benelux. Also, all dads get a free mimosa or Lowlands Brewing Collaborative beer.

 

4. Mason Street Grill

425 E. MASON ST.

Located at street level inside The Pfister Hotel, this steakhouse is adding three specials to the menu on Father’s Day: mushrooms stuffed with crab, spinach, Parmesan and bearnaise sauce; a 30-ounce porterhouse steak alongside rendered bacon and blue-cheese butter; and caramel cashew cluster cake.

5. The Original

2498 N. BARTLETT AVE.

In addition to its regular brunch menu—which features a brunch burger, johnnycakes, brunch grilled cheese and chicken ‘n waffles—this restaurant plans to roll out Father’s Day specials, to be announced soon. The brunch is served between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

6. The Social American Tavern

611 N. BROADWAY

Do something more elevated than brunch: how about brunch and a show? Choose from two seatings for this family-friendly, 30-minute magic show (12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.) hosted by Luca Live, along with a Father’s Day brunch buffet, served between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. (paid separately). Tickets are $15 for kids (12 and younger) and $25 for adults.

7. MOTOR

400 W. CANAL ST. 

This restaurant at the Harley-Davidson Museum is partnering with Indeed Brewing for a beer-and-BBQ feast on Father’s Day, beginning at noon and hosted on the outdoor lawn with lawn games. Tickets ($49.95 per person) include five beers with food pairings that included grilled oysters, smoked brisket and baby-back ribs. Dads can enter the museum for free on that date, too.

8. The Capital Grille 

310 W. WISCONSIN AVE.

Exclusive to Father’s Day, this downtown steakhouse is offering a 22-ounce prime bone-in ribeye with caramelized shallot jus and truffle butter. They are also suggesting Dad drink a glass of Caymus 50th-anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon as a pairing.

9. The Melting Pot

19850 W. BLUEMOUND RD., BROOKFIELD

To celebrate the favorite fathers in your life, this fondue restaurant has what you need. On Father’s Day they are rolling out their Forever Fondue(R) Endless Entree three-course feast where you select an all-you-can-eat option from three categories (“land & sea,” “steak lovers” and “classic entree”). For example, in the “steak lovers” category are steaks marinated in teriyaki glaze, seasoned with garlic and pepper, and rubbed with brown sugar and bourbon. The meal also comes with a salad and chocolate fondue.

10. ARIA

As a Father’s Day special, this restaurant inside of Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel is offering a 35-day, dry-aged and bone-in center-cut NY strip with chimichurri paired with a flight of Bardstown Bourbon ($95 per person). Dads even get a signature grill seasoning to take home.
