Marco Pollo

  • Focus: Chicken (of course!) featured in globally inspired twists
  • Where: Summer food truck events
  • Sleeper menu item: The Marcocita – crispy chicken with queso and salsa verde over jasmine rice

  • Focus: Mexican street food
  • Where: 14th and Burnham
  • Sleeper menu item: Quesadilla with goat birria

  • Focus: Seasoned, spit-roasted beef and lamb; grilled seasoned chicken 
  • Where: Hawley and Bluemound (Citgo lot)

  • Focus: Lao fusion cuisine, including banh mi, fried rice and sausage  
  • Where: Zócalo Food Park, 636 S. Sixth St.

The Fatty Patty

  • Focus: Burgers made with halal beef 
  • Where: 1014 N. Water St.; 9200 W. Burleigh St., Wauwatosa 
  • Sleeper menu item: Fire Wing, topped with Swiss cheese, onion ring, jalapenos and Sriracha mayo 

Chillwaukee

  • Focus: Frozen treats on a stick or in a cup
  • Where: Milwaukee Public Market (Fri-Sun) 
  • Sleeper menu item: Asian-inspired shaved ice with homemade mochi balls
