15 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: May 22-27

The War Memorial Beer Garden fittingly opens this weekend. And they’re releasing a lager that recognizes the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Wednesday, May 22

The weekly release for 1840 Brewing Co. is Sea Foam, a fruited sour made with lactose.

Thursday, May 23

Head to Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) to try samples from Hinterland Brewing (3 to 5 p.m.) and Surly Brewing (4 to 6 p.m.).

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) offers samples from Bell’s Brewery and Terrapin Beer Co. from 3 to 5 p.m.

The Roundhouse Beer Garden at McKinley Marina (1750 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr.) marks its season opening by giving away 100 beers. Get there at 5 p.m. to partake.

Friday, May 24

The War Memorial Beer Garden (750 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr.) celebrates its opening day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The folks from Kegel’s Inn will be there supplying beer, loaded brats and gemütlichkeit. They’ll also be pouring 200 Yards American Lager, a collab with Explorium Brewpub that honors the brave souls who stormed the beach at Normandy. 200 Yards is also available for presale.

Raised Grain Brewing’s Pop-up Beer Garden kicks off the season at Fox River Park (W264 S4500 River Rd. Waukesha). Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

New Barons Brewing Co-op is pouring beer at Junefest, which takes place at the Fox Point Beer Garden (7377 N Longacre Rd.) from 5 to 9 p.m. They’ll be releasing Goat Stuff, referred to as a “Junebock”.

Try samples from Dos Equis at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from 3 to 5 p.m.

Toppling Goliath is offering samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha from 3 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, May 25

Draft & Vessel ‘Tosa (7479 Harwood Ave.) celebrates its third anniversary starting at 3 p.m. Hop Butcher, Fair State Brewing and Supermoon Beer Company will be there pouring a few gems to celebrate.

Family Fun Day is coming to The Tap Yard – West Bend (4875 County Hwy. Z). It includes a bounce house, face painting, and games for the kids. For the adults, there’s beer.

The weekly release at Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) is True Hallucinations, a double IPA.

Sunday, May 26

Kraken the Firkin Cask Ale Festival takes place at Sir James Pub (316 N. Franklin St.) from 1 to 6 p.m. Tickets range from $10 to $70.

The Tap Yard – Milwaukee (1555 N. RiverCenter Dr.) hosts its third annual Grilled Cheese Fest from noon to 6 p.m.

Monday, May 27

Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) celebrates Memorial Day with a potluck at 2 p.m. Bring something to share or something to put on the grill.

May 29: Third Space’s Beer School covers the topic of sour beers.

June 1: Ope! Brewing (6751 W. National Ave.) celebrates its second year in business with a party. An anniversary saison, a collaboration with Perspective Brewing, will be on the menu.

June 2: Pilot Project is pairing Bloodys & Brews. Early bird tickets start at $20.

June 14: Guitar City Days, the annual fundraiser hosted by Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr., Waukesha), happens on June 14 and June 15.

June 15: Tickets are on sale for Eagle Park Brewing’s Seventh Anniversary Party. The festivities include three anniversary beer releases. Component Brewing is throwing a party for its sixth anniversary and also plans to release three special beers.

June 22: The popular Lager & Friends beer fest returns to Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.).
