This Bites: Ask Ann, Cooking Classes and Deep-Dish Pizza

The culinary podcast featuring 88Nine’s Tarik Moody and MilMag’s Ann Christenson talking about all things dining-related.

On this episode of 88Nine Radio Milwaukee’This Bites, Tarik and I talk about everything from restaurant names to cooking classes, deep-dish pizza to the 88Nine Hackathon in October.

But first off in Topic Land, it’s the Ask Ann column that runs periodically in Milwaukee Magazine. The column is back in our September issue, and the focus is the current wave of restaurant names, like Cedarburg’s Brandywine, Tosa’s Ca’Lucchenzo and the Third Ward’s Fauntleroy. We talk about what’s driving the focus of resto names these days.  Also, Brandywine is offering a cool Tuesday night Date Night for couples….

Starting this month and running into December, Lazy Susan is hosting several cooking classes focusing on different parts of the world. Owner A.J. Dixon is teaching the class, and each course will be paired with a different wine. Spain, Italy and France are a few of the countries A.J. is focusing on.

We also talk about the soon-to-come addition of Lou Malnati’s deep-dish pizza to Milwaukee. A location is slated to open in Fox Point in early December. Listen for even more dining news!

Ann Christenson has covered dining for Milwaukee Magazine since 1997. She was raised on a diet of casseroles that started with a pound of ground beef and a can of Campbell's soup. Feel free to share any casserole recipes with her.
