1. Africa: A Kung Fu Story

The Milwaukee Art Museum is premiering Africa: A Kung Fu Story on free admission day. The documentary chronicles the filmmakers journey to Tanzania to teach Shaolin martial artists how to create their own films. Milwaukee native Arnold Cifax Jr. composed the film’s score and will lead a live 30-minute talkback after the screening.
2. Music at the Pavilion – The LoveMonkeys
THURSDAY FROM 6-9 P.M. | FIREMEN’S PARK
Germantown’s largest outdoor concert series kicks off this weekend with The LoveMonkeys. Admission is free and there are food vendors and a beer garden. All proceeds from the beer garden support Germantown Park and Recreations and local organizations.
3. Live Blue’s with The Ivy Ford Band
THURSDAY FROM 6-8:30 P.M. | STORY HILL FIREHOUSE
Check out the Chicago-based Ivy Ford Band at the Story Hill FireHouse. Guests are encouraged to support their favorite local restaurant by packing dinner and hanging out on the FireHouse Yard. Tickets are $20 each and there is a full cash/credit bar.

4. PrideFest Milwaukee

Milwaukee’s biggest pride event is happening this weekend with headliners across all three days. The SkyyLine Mainstage will feature queens from “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” and the bands SM6 and Party Favors. A three-day pass is $65 and tickets for Friday and Saturday are $30 each.
5. Milwaukee Whole Bead Show

The Whole Bead Show is bringing a plethora of vintage beads, charms, gemstones, glass beans and many more. For any jewelry enthusiast, this is the place to be.
6. Free Day and Community Celebration

The Milwaukee Art Museum is hosting its free day this Thursday featuring the theme “Community.” Connect with art through art, music and film with the featured tours, performances and film screenings all day long.
7. 20th Annual Bash
FRIDAY AT 5 P.M. | MARCUS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
Milwaukee’s biggest broadway event is happening this Friday. The 20th Annual BASH is hosted by Portia Young and features a performance by Broadway star Joshua Henry. All funds raised will be donated to MPAC’s education and engagement programs to continue to provide youth access to the arts at little to no cost. Performance tickets start at $151.75 and the full gala tickets are $300 each.
8. Art 64
FRIDAY FROM 5-8 P.M. AND SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M.-5 P.M. | 7700 HARWOOD AVE.
Art 64 is back for its fourth year. Watch 64 artists face off in a bracket-style painting tournament where the audience votes on the winner. The winning painting will hang in Wauwatosa City Hall, and the winner gets $20,000. Attendance is free both online and in-person.
9. Tosa Greek Fest

10. Fly Away

Milwaukee vintage store Plume is partnering with the Milwaukee Public Market to host the third annual Fly Away event. The market will feature 20 vintage and art vendors throughout the Riverwalk Commons.
11. Wisconsin & Beer Lover’s Festival

15. Yoga at the Museum

Yoga at the museum officially starts this weekend! Enjoy the view of Lake Michigan from the pavilion during this 60-minute flow, suitable for all levels. General admission is $15 and guests must bring their own mat.

16. Food Trucks & Jazz

The Rotary Club of Mitchell Field is hosting Food Trucks & Jazz. There are activities available for all ages, a variety of food trucks and live jazz from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. All beer, soda and water sales benefit the local rotary charitable projects.
17. National Puerto Rican Day Festival

The El Conquistador Latino Newspaper is hosting its annual National Puerto Rican Day festival to honor the 3.2 million inhabitants of Puerto Rico. There will be traditional music, Puerto Rican food and drink.
18. Pride on 2nd
SUNDAY AT 11 A.M. | 2ND STREET
Revival, Walker’s Pint, LaCage and Fluid are holding a block party with DJs, food venders and more. The location offers a great view of the MKE Pride Parade and guests are encouraged to arrive early to claim a spot.
19. FatDIX Pride Block Party
SUNDAY FROM NOON.-10 P.M. | 739 S 1ST STREET
D.I.X Milwaukee and Fat Daddys are throwing a block party along the main route of the MKE Pride Parade. There are drink and beer tents, local vendors and a stage with performances scheduled all afternoon.
20. Milwaukee Pride Parade
SUNDAY AT 2 P.M. | 2ND ST IN WALKER’S POINT
The Pride Parade is this weekend, with the theme “Remember, Resist, Rejoice” to celebrate its 21st anniversary. There are over 205 entrants, and thousands of people attend each year. The parade in Walker’s Point starts at Scott Street and goes down Second until Seeboth. (And watch out for a few of us from Milwaukee Magazine marching with our parent company, Quad!)
