1. Sad Summer Festival
FRIDAY AT 2:30 P.M. | THE RAVE
Artists, Waterparks, Neck Deep, Mayday Parade, State Champs, Hot Mulligan, The Summer Set, Hot Milk and LØLØ will be performing at the all-day, all-night event at The Rave. The Eagles Craft Beer Garden will open at 1:30 p.m. where participants can get drinks, buy merch, see the band tents and more.
2. Brandi Carlile: Beyond These Silent Days Tour
FRIDAY AT 7 P.M. | FISERV FORUM
Brandi Carlile, a six-time Grammy Award-winning artist, will be performing her new album “In These Silent Days,” a low country genre, at the Fiserv Forum. Tickets can be purchased online or in-person at the Fiserv Forum box office.
3. Constellations of The Zodiac: Leo
FRIDAY AT 7 P.M. | UWM MANFRED OLSON PLANETARIUM
The interactive planetarium event and show will focus on stories and science behind zodiac constellations and especially what makes Leo, this month’s constellation, different from the others. There will be an indoor stargazing session and time to ask questions at the end. Tickets range from $5 to $6.
4. HaRUNbee 5K Walk/Run
SATURDAY AT 8:30 A.M. | N. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DR.
Kicking off the 11th annual Bronzeville Week, is the HaRUNbee 5K for Healthy Birth Outcomes – coordinated by the National Coalition for Healthy Black Families. The event is taking place to raise awareness of infant mortality. Participants can either join in the event in-person or virtually, picking their own individual routes.
5. Ultimate Sports Day
SATURDAY FROM 11 A.M.-3 P.M. | WICK PLAYFIELD
Milwaukee Public Schools Interscholastic Activities and Milwaukee Recreation Youth Sports is hosting Ultimate Sports Day in hopes to provide young athletes with the fundamentals of the 13 available sports programs in the district. This is a free event for athletes ranging in age from first grade to high school seniors.
6. Root Beer Bash
SATURDAY FROM 11 A.M.-7 P.M. | THE YARD AT BAYSHORE
The Root Beer Bash at Bayshore includes a dance party, face painting, a petting zoo, a block party band and more. And, of course, there will also be root beer floats provided by Sprecher Brewing Company and Culver’s, as they aim to set a world record for the highest number of root beer floats given away. Despite the event being free, participants are asked to register prior to the bash for attendance and supply reasons.
7. Black Arts Fest MKE
SATURDAY FROM NOON-10 P.M. | HENRY MAIER FESTIVAL PARK
Returning to the Summerfest grounds, the annual art fest recognizes and celebrates African heritage and the creativity of Black cultural arts. There will be live music and performances, as well as art, poetry, fashion, dance and food. Tickets start at $10, and kids under the age of 7 can get in for free.
8. Doga & Mimosa Mixer
SUNDAY AT 10 A.M. | RILEY’S SOCIAL HOUSE
Riley’s Social House and Off Leash Mke will be hosting an event for dogs and their owners to drink mimosas and do yoga! Yoga will start at 10 a.m. in Catalano Square, followed by a mimosa social at Riley’s Social House. Admission is $25, and you can register online for the event.
9. Brewtown Rumble
SUNDAY 11 A.M.-5 P.M. | DEER DISTRICT
This ride-in motorcycle show aims to celebrate vintage motorcycles, with live music, vendors and beer provided by MKE Brewing and Jack Daniel’s Jack Cans. All proceeds go to the BUILD Moto Mentor Program, and everyone is welcome to attend the event.
10. Newsies
ENDS SUNDAY, SHOWS AT 2 P.M. AND 7:30 P.M. | SUNSET PLAYHOUSE
The popular Disney Broadway show, based off a true story and 1992 motion picture, Newsies, will have their last performance at the Sunset Playhouse in Elm Grove this Sunday. Tickets start at $26 for adults, $13 for children 12 and under and $24 for seniors. Audience members can purchase tickets over the phone or online.
