New “Top Chef” Season Will Be Filmed in Wisconsin | Milwaukee Magazine

The New Season of Bravo’s ‘Top Chef’ Will Be Filmed in Wisconsin!

They expect the “cheftestants” to be “inspired by the bourgeoning culinary scene in Milwaukee and Madison…”

It’s enough to make a born-and-bred Wisconsinite proud as punch. The folks over at Bravo TV have announced two exciting bits of news related to the show “Top Chef” – one is the replacement for departing host Padma Lakshmi. I’m going to leave you hanging there for a second because the bigger news, for us anyway, is their other announcement, which is where the newest season, 21, will be filmed – right here in Wisconsin, baby.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

What we don’t know is where exactly the filming will take place or anything about the contestants. But, per press materials that came to my email inbox, they expect the “cheftestants” to be “inspired by the bourgeoning culinary scene in Milwaukee and Madison known for blending tradition with innovation and utilizing farm fresh ingredients.”

As for the new host, it’s Kristen Kish, a chef born in Korea and raised in Michigan who also went on to win Season 10 of “Top Chef” in 2012. The show is also known for its celebrity chefs/judges Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons.

That’s about all I know right now. More details to come…
