Tarik Moody and I jump into this episode of This Bites on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee with a little discussion about sports and food ‒ specifically, Fiserv Forum’s (a.k.a., the new Bucks arena’s) local food and beverage options, from businesses like Sobelman’s, FreshFin Poke, Iron Grate BBQ, Cedar Crest Ice Cream, Laughing Taco, Colectivo Coffee and others. The entertainment complex opened August 26.

A major transition has come to the Downtown corner of Jefferson and Wells. After a 24-year run in the Cathedral Square area, Louise’s Trattoria (801 N. Jefferson St.) ‒ known for its pizzas, BBQ chicken chopped salad and pastas ‒ has closed. The restaurant was owned by R.C. Schmidt, who continues to run Louise’s catering and other restaurants, including the multiple locations of Water Street Brewery.
The new bakeries just keep coming. The latest is called Mor (a word that is Swedish for “mother”). Located in the Lincoln Warehouse (2018 S. First St.), Mor specializes in gluten-free baked goods.
Learn more about, well, Mor and get a taste of what’s happening during Harley-Davidson’s 115th anniversary celebration over Labor Day weekend. (There will be plenty more Harley festivities where that came from on our next episode.)
