We asked writer and November 2017 issue contributor Georgia Pabst to share with us the reasons she loves Milwaukee. Here are her picks:
The waterfall at Kletzsch Park
The cascading waterfall along the Milwaukee River is a favorite destination on walks to relax, refresh and revitalize.
The Near South Side
El Rey Market for great tacos, fruits and vegetables. The new Mitchell Street Library is a jewel. Anmol Restaurant offers Pakistani and Indian dishes. For churros and empanadas, it’s Lopez Bakery.
Theater
From First Stage to the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee Chamber, Next Act, Renaissance Theaterworks, Skylight and Florentine Opera there’s an array of shows and great performances.

The Fondy Market
The Walnut Way Conservation Corp urban farms, and others bring their bounty. A special favorite: the Vietnamese stuffed chicken wings.

The Lakefront
In the summer it’s Bradford Beach for sun and sand, margaritas at the tiki shacks, ice cream at NorthPoint Custard, or a cappuccino at Colectivo, a favorite year-round meeting place.
Georgia Pabst is a contributor to our November 2017 issue, writing “Breaking Ground.”
