Keisha Krumm and Jennifer O’Hear discuss the origins of the Fair Play Campaign, Common Ground’s role in the arena debate, the campaign’s successes, and what’s next.
The deal to finance a new Downtown arena for the Milwaukee bucks cleared its final legislative hurdle last week when the Common Council passed the city’s portion of the financing. But before construction begins, we’re taking a look back at the multi-year process that got us here with some people who have been very close to it since the beginning.
On this episode, I sat down with Keisha Krumm and Jennifer O’Hear of Common Ground. We discussed the origins of the organization’s Fair Play Campaign, Common Ground’s role in the arena debate, the campaign’s successes, and what’s next now that decisions have been made.
Also: we’re featuring local music on the podcast, so if you’d like to have your song played, get in touch with me via email or on Twitter. This episode features the song “Verbal Chess” by Great Lake Drifters, and you’ll here some of it at the beginning of the podcast and the rest of it at the very end.
