Pack victorious, Congress gets busy and Golden Globes break all sorts of news

Here’s what we’re reading Monday:

The Packers dominated the New York Giants in a masterful performance by QB Aaron Rodgers, prompting Odell Beckham, the Giants’ showboat receiver, to apparently punch a hole in the wall and bang his head on a locker afterwards.

Senate committees will begin the process of confirming President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees on Tuesday, as Congress begins a busy 11 days before his inauguration.

The movie La La Land won a record seven Golden Globes Sunday night, including two for Nicolet High School grad Justin Hurwitz, who wrote the score and co-wrote the song “City of Stars.”

Actress Meryl Streep won a lifetime achievement award, and used her speech at the ceremony to rip (without naming) Trump, who then responded with a series of early morning tweets calling her “over-rated” and a “Hillary flunky.”

And check out this photo gallery on urbanmilwaukee.com of last week’s demolition of the Transit Center on the lakefront Downtown, in preparation for the construction of The Couture luxury apartment tower.
