Morning Links for April 23, 2015

Bird flu, the Bucks’ arena, Rosie the Riveter and more.

The news we’re pouring over while nursing that second cup of coffee:

The deadly bird flu affecting the poultry industry in Wisconsin and Minnesota has reached a new level of concern now that USDA veterinarians say the virus may be airborne.

The model for Norman Rockwell’s World War II-era “Rosie the Riveter” painting has died. Mary Doyle Keefe, who posed for the painting in 1943, was 91 years old.

Officials are meeting in Madison today to talk about funding for the Milwaukee Bucks arena. The NBA has said the Bucks will vamoose if they don’t have a new stadium by 2017.

Speaking of arenas, the University of Nebraska at Omaha is getting a new $81.6 million stadium for its basketball, volleyball and hockey teams. One of the amenities is a cannon that shoots tacos into the stands.

Got $40 million burning a hole in your pocket? There is some prime real estate for you — a new market of homes priced for the elite.
