SistaStrings will be accompanying Allison Russell, a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, at her performance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ tonight.
Monique and Chauntee Ross have been making music together since their childhood growing up on Milwaukee’s North Side. With Chauntee on the violin and Monique on the cello, the duo made their debut as SistaStrings at the 2014 Riverwest FemFest and have since gone on to perform extensively.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
They’ve worked with other Milwaukee musicians, like Klassik, and perform classical string pieces, covers and mash-ups of popular contemporary pop songs, and their own original music. They released their first EP, Lift, in 2019. Two years later, they released “The Sound,” a song that draws on their experience marching in Milwaukee’s 2020 protests. The duo relocated to Nashville last year.
The sisters have been posting behind the scenes photos from their upcoming Kimmel performance on their Instagram, linked here. To learn more, you can read this 2016 profile we did of them.
The show will air at 10:35 p.m. tonight on ABC.
