Merriment Social is Opening for Lunch Starting March 28

Pretty soon, there’s going to be more Merriment to have!

The owners of Third Coast Provisions may be busy with grilled oysters and lobster potholes. They’re also keeping the lights shining at their first Milwaukee venture, Merriment Social (240 E. Pittsburgh Ave.). Merriment is to burgers what Third Coast is to seafood. Although Merriment is truly a lot more than burgers.

And pretty soon, there’s going to be more Merriment to have, as the restaurant adds lunch hours on Tuesday, March 28. Lunch is a healthy mix of small plates (familiar from the dinner menu), salads, burgers, sandwiches, shakes and (sweet) treats.

Some examples (possibly tweaked before D-day): French dip ($16); the Winner Winner fried chicken breast sandwich with jalapeno ranch ($14); the Superstan burger with fried cheese curds, spicy marinara, pickled peppers, paprika aioli and Tuscan kale ($16); Buffalo gulf shrimp salad ($16). There’s also fried chicken in three styles — Red Hot, Georgia Gold BBQ and The O.G. ($22-$23). Desserts include gooey butter cake and milk chocolate cheese. The boozy shakes come in three varieties, for instance “Hazed and Confused” (bourbon and hazelnut liqueur, bourbon caramel, candied pecans, and golden graham ginger frosting, $14). Lunch hours-to-be: Tues-Sat 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Anyone else feeling heady?
