Proceeds from the event will support community programs, annual bridge maintenance and lighting of the east side of the Hoan Bridge.

Last year’s Hoanchella made some waves, drawing nearly 75 boats to the beloved Hoan Bridge for a night of music, fireworks and synchronized lights. The event raised money for Light the Hoan – a nonprofit that runs the bridge’s colorful light display – to go toward maintaining existing bulbs and installing new ones on the eastern side.

“[It was] our gala on the water,” says executive director Erika Smith. Now, it’s coming back as Hoancoming on Aug. 17, with more public boat options, an added drone show and daytime activities planned along the RiverWalk in the Third Ward and beyond. Returning is the river party’s main cruise boat with DJ Shawna spinning tunes.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
