You Can Sample Gourmet Wisconsin Cheese at This Walker’s Point Bar

It’s cheddar weather.

Cheese is part of our identity. Making cheese is part of Hill Valley Dairy’s.

Late last year, the company, which sources its milk from a family farm in East Troy, completed its transformation of the former Clock Shadow Creamery in Walker’s Point (138 W. Bruce St.) into Milwaukee Cheese Bar, a factory, store and a bar.

Flights, boards and bites highlight their own line of cheeses (cheddars, goudas and more) and those of other Wisconsin makers.

The Classic Board and the Trio Flight shown here highlights Hill Valley’s black pepper cheddar and Port Washington-based Blakesville Creamery’s ash ripened goat and sheep’s milk cheeses with paired wines.

Ann Christenson has covered dining for Milwaukee Magazine since 1997. She was raised on a diet of casseroles that started with a pound of ground beef and a can of Campbell's soup. Feel free to share any casserole recipes with her.
