Ope! Charlie Berens Dropped an Album

The ‘Manitowoc Minute’ creator teamed up with Adam Greuel, of Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, on a new album.

We’ve known for a while now that Charlie Berens, of “Manitowoc Minute” fame, knows his way around a music studio, or at least a suite of auto-tune software. The comedian’s January parody of “Old Town Road” is a genuine banger.

And now he’s outdone himself again, with a full-length album called Unthawed.

Berens teamed up with a member of nationally-renowned, Wisconsin-born bluegrass band Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Adam Greuel, to create the album. And, as you might imagine, the album showcases both of their talents.

The nine tracks embody the toe-tapping folksiness of a traditional bluegrass record. And many of them have a decidedly comedic bent, with titles like “Ope Nope” and “Supperclub Shuffle.”

The album can be purchased on Berens’ website. And if you like what you hear, you may also want to check out Horseshoe & Hand Grenades’ latest album, Miles in Blue
