16 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: April 14-19

Happy 414 Day to all who celebrate. A busy beer week includes 414 celebrations, a slew of beer releases, and Eagle Park Brewing’s annual Joint Beer Fest.

Tuesday, April 14

Ray’s Wine & Spirits Mequon (7555 W. Mequon Rd.) marks 414 Day with in-store tastings of locally made beer, wine and spirits. The sampling runs from 3 to 6 p.m.

Celebrate 414 Day at Indeed Brewing (530 S. Second St.) with the release of Birthday Cake Cream Ale and a DJ from 7 to 10 p.m.

Gathering Place Brewing is selling pints of beer for just $4.14 at both its Milwaukee (811 E. Vienna Ave.) and Wauwatosa (7208 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa) taprooms.

Wednesday, April 15

Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr., Waukesha) is releasing Full Circle, a Belgian quad made with cherries. It’s a limited release so don’t expect it to be around long.

Beginner Bonsai 101 is happening at Pilot Project Brewing (1128 N. Ninth St.) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For $85 you get a dwarf jade plant and will learn the skills needed to pot and prune it into your own bonsai.

The release of Strawbharbie, a strawberry rhubarb ale made in collaboration with the Pink Boots Society, is happening at Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) at 5 p.m.

The Milwaukee History Club is coming to MobCraft Beer (505 S. Fifth St.) and hosting two hours of insights into Milwaukee’s history. Did you know that a sovereign nation, the Kingdom of Talossa, exists (arguably) right here in Milwaukee? You’ll know more about it if you head to MobCraft at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, April 16

Busby’s (3475 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., Bay View) is throwing a 30th birthday party for Three Floyds Brewing from 5 to 10 p.m. They’ll be tapping Three Floyds beers and giving away tickets to Dark Lord Day.

Add some high culture to your brewery experience at Baroque and Beer, an hour of live classical music from musicians Charles Asch and Charlie Rasmussen at Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) that starts at 6 p.m.

Try samples from Sierra Nevada Brewing at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.

Friday, April 17

Discount Liquor Milwaukee is pouring beer samples from Untitled Art from 3 to 6 p.m. At Discount Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.), Sierra Nevada is offering samples from 3 to 5 p.m. and Mash Gang will be there from 2 to 4 p.m.

Saturday, April 18

The annual Joint Beer Fest takes place at Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego). This year’s lineup features a mix of producers, from breweries like Young Blood and Ohio’s Dankhouse to J Henry & Sons distillery and Drinkin’ Buds Beverages. There will also be live music, plenty of food, and even magic. General admission tickets start at $90.

Nosey Neighbor Brewing is releasing its first beer, Welcome to the Neighborhood American Pale Ale, at MobCraft Beer (505 S. 5th St.) at 1 p.m. Nosey Neighbor has been a fixture in local homebrew competitions for years and is the first to brew at New Barons through their brewery incubator program.

The Lincoln Warehouse has a second big release on Saturday. Component Brewing (2018 S. First St.) is tapping Dill on the Hill, its pickle sour ale, at 2 p.m. There will be bloody marys, pickle snacks, and pickle pizza.

The Red Magic Spring Makers Market brings Native American artisans to Black Husky Brewing from noon to 4 p.m.

Sunday, April 19

Yoga is happening at Ope! Brewing (6751 W. National Ave., West Allis) at 10 a.m. The cost is $20 and includes a beer when you’re done.

Saturday, April 25: Kegel’s Inn (5901 W. National Ave., West Allis) hosts Bockbierfest from 4 to 10 p.m. There will be beer poking, the blessing of the bock, music and the release Hofbräu Maibock.

Sunday, May 17: Maifest returns to Lakefront Brewery. The gluten-free festival features food and craft beverages and several cask beers made for the occasion.

Saturday, May 30: The eighth year of Lager & Friends is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. The beer fest out on Vienna Street in front of Gathering Place Brewing highlights lagers from several standout breweries.

Saturday, May 30: Sheboygan’s 3 Sheeps Brewing celebrates its 14th anniversary with live music, food vendors, a sale of vintage barrel-aged bottles and more.

Saturday, June 13: Sip and Savor Wisconsin (formerly the Wisconsin Beer Lovers Fest) comes to The Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd., Glendale) and the pavilion in its Old Heidelberg Park beer garden. Sample beer, wine, spirits and food from some of Wisconsin’s best artisan makers. Tickets start at $70.
