A beer event that benefits dogs, a beer run, the weekly slew of tastings and a reminder to reserve a spot at an upcoming beer dinner at Good City Brewing. It's a busy week for beer lovers.

Tuesday, Aug. 22

At 5 p.m., Story Hill BKC (5100 W. Bluemound Rd.) is Founders Lizard of Koz—a delicious barrel-aged stout made with vanilla, chocolate and blueberries—as part of an ongoing preview of the Bar Bites Beer Bash on Monday, Aug. 28. The Milwaukee Beer Society has some great events but, as a dog lover, Beers for Barks gets special notice. The event takes place as Black Husky Brewing (909 W. Locust St.) from 6 to 9 p.m. and benefits Rescue Gang, which helps provide medical care and homes for abandoned and neglected animals. Rescue Gang is bringing some dogs looking for homes and Black Husky is donating 10% of beer sales to the organization. There’s also a $5 suggested donation that benefits the group directly. Come to Riverwest and drink beer for a great cause.

Sprecher’s Pass Me A Pint traveling beer garden makes its last stop of the season at Bender Park (4503 E. Ryan Rd). They’ll be pouring brews there until Labor Day (Sept. 4.).

Maui Brewing Company takes over the taps at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) at 5 p.m.

Maui is also handing out samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 4 to 6 p.m.

Lakefront and Great Lakes bring their collaboration Hoppy Lager to Stubby’s (2060 N. Humboldt Ave.) from 7 to 10 p.m.
