Beer Events Brewing This Week: Aug. 22-26

A beer event that benefits dogs, a beer run, the weekly slew of tastings and a reminder to reserve a spot at an upcoming beer dinner at Good City Brewing. It’s a busy week for beer lovers.

Tuesday, Aug. 22

At 5 p.m., Story Hill BKC (5100 W. Bluemound Rd.) is Founders Lizard of Koz—a delicious barrel-aged stout made with vanilla, chocolate and blueberries—as part of an ongoing preview of the Bar Bites Beer Bash on Monday, Aug. 28. The main event at the end of the month costs $60 and includes food pairings with standout beers from breweries like New Glarus, Central Waters, Bell’s, Door County, Surly, O’so, Lakefront, Deschutes and Uinta.

Wednesday, Aug. 23

The Milwaukee Beer Society has some great events but, as a dog lover, Beers for Barks gets special notice. The event takes place as Black Husky Brewing (909 W. Locust St.) from 6 to 9 p.m. and benefits Rescue Gang, which helps provide medical care and homes for abandoned and neglected animals. Rescue Gang is bringing some dogs looking for homes and Black Husky is donating 10% of beer sales to the organization. There’s also a $5 suggested donation that benefits the group directly. Come to Riverwest and drink beer for a great cause.

Sprecher’s Pass Me A Pint traveling beer garden makes its last stop of the season at Bender Park (4503 E. Ryan Rd). They’ll be pouring brews there until Labor Day (Sept. 4.).

Northern U.S. beers are the subjects of the weekly free tasting at both Three Cellars locations (7228 S. 27th St. and N72 W13400 Lund Lane, Menomonee Falls) from 1 to 4 p.m.
