Beer Events Brewing This Week: Sept. 5-8

Brewery birthdays, Ervtoberfest and so much more. It’s yet another great week to be a beer fan in Milwaukee.

Wednesday, Sept. 5

The weekly tap takeover at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) is a unique one. Lumpia City Food Truck is choosing beers that pair nicely with its tasty lumpia. The food truck will be in the parking lot of Ray’s as a fine dinner option.

Milwaukee Beer Society features beers with animals on the label during its weekly meeting from 6 to 9 p.m. at Best Place (901 W. Juneau Ave.). The cost is $10 for members and $15 for guests.

Thursday, Sept. 6

The Raised Grain Brewing pop-up beer garden heads to Menomonee Park (W220 N7884 Town Line Rd.) for the weekend. It’ll be open from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Friday, Sept. 7

The 5th Annual Milwaukee Legends Beer Dinner takes place at Five O’Clock Steakhouse (2416 W. State St.), featuring four courses at the legendary steakhouse and beer pairings with Lakefront, Sprecher and Raised Grain. The cost is $75 and the event benefits the Wisconsin Humane Society and Charge Against Cancer. Make a reservation by calling 414-342-3553.

The weekly craft beer sampling at MOTOR Bar & Restaurant (401 W. Canal St.) features Karben4. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. you can try free pours of Karben4 or order larger ones for just $4.

Try samples from Ale Asylum (3 to 6 p.m.) and Sam Adams (4 to 6 p.m.) at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.).

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) has a visit from Hofbrau from 4 to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 8

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) is celebrating its second anniversary in style when it opens at noon. For one, the brewery is releasing Hop Quencher IPA. Also, starting at noon, they’re tapping some seriously rare brews every hour until 7 p.m. There will be live music, and one dollar from each Hop Quencher pint sold will go to Camp Minikani. Cheers, Third Space!

Ervtoberfest at Erv’s Mug (130 W. Ryan Rd.) is a feast of German food and a crazy selection of beers. If you are a fan of Oktoberfests and other fall seasonals, then you kind of have to make sure you get a ticket. Pick one up at Erv’s for $40.

Down Dogs & Drafts at The Fermentorium (7481 State Road 60, Cedarburg) is a one-hour yoga class from 11 a.m. to noon. Bring your own mat, $15 and your thirst — the fee includes tokens for beer.

Northern Brewer (1306 S. 108th St.) hosts an introduction to all-grain brewing for homebrew novices. Learn from the experts from noon to 1 p.m. The event is free, but requires registration.

Brewfinity takes over the taps at the Depot Beer Garden (corner of Pilgrim Rd. and County Line Rd. Q) from 2 to 9 p.m.

MobCraft and City Lights come to Discount Liquor Milwaukee from noon to 3 p.m.
