Beer Events Brewing This Week: June 4-9

A great Father’s Day gift idea, another monthly release is happening at 1840 Brewing Company, and Odell Brewing Company is introducing itself all over town. It’s a busy week folks.

Monday, June 4

If you’re looking for a great Father’s Day gift, it’s hard to beat the Five O’Clock Brunch package. For just $55 you get the amazing State of Craft Beer book, one pound of Hawthorne Coffee Roasters coffee and a drink token for a Wisconsin craft beer at Hawthorne’s café at 4177 S. Howell. Order online before Saturday to ensure delivery in time for Father’s Day.

Tuesday, June 5

Odell Brewing begins its weeklong Wisconsin launch party at Burnhearts (2599 S. Logan Ave.) by putting a few standouts on tap.

Wednesday, June 6

St. Francis Brewery (3825 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) releases Rye’d the Lighting, a rye honey porter, at 7:30 p.m. The intriguing brew uses Wisconsin plenty of honey from Mt. Horeb’s Gentle Breeze Honey and registers a 7.4% ABV.

The Milwaukee Beer Society hosts another homebrew night at Best Place (901 W. Juneau Ave.) from 6 to 8 p.m. Members are encouraged to bring at least a four-pack of their finest creations.

Central State Brewing brings its wild and farmhouse ales from Indianapolis to Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.).

Sprecher Brewery’s Roll Out the Barrel Tour traveling beer garden begins a nearly three-week stint in Bender Park (4503 E. Ryan Rd.).

The Odell tour makes a stop at Champps Americana (1240 S. Moorland Rd.), where Tony will be pouring some tasty stuff.

Thursday, June 7

Raised Grain Brewing Company’s pop-up beer garden comes to Nashotah Park’s picnic area No. 1 over the weekend. They’ll be pouring from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday. Matty’s Food Truck will be there too.

Mr. Brews Taphouse (N91 W15720 Falls Parkway, Menomonee Falls) hosts an Odell’s stop at 6 p.m.

Friday, June 8

Gathering Place Brewing Company (811 E. Vienna Ave.) hosts a fish fry with Wicked Urban Grill. Gathering Place brews are incorporated into a food menu that includes battered cod, pork and chicken. The $12 fish fry includes cod, slaw fries, bread and butter.

DOC’s Commerce Smokehouse (754 N. 4th St.) hosts a launch party for Odell Brewing from 5 to 10 p.m. They’ll be tapping 90 Shilling IPA, Myrcenary IIPA, Zard-Alu Sour Apricot and the delicious standard issue Odell IPA.

St. Francis Brewery takes over the taps at Milwaukee’s Craft Beer Garden at Humboldt Park (3000 S. Howell Ave.) starting at 6 p.m. Kids win with free root beer at $2 hot dogs.

Saturday, June 9

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) has its monthly release from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This month the menu includes a second batch of the delicious Impatiently Waiting Oaked IPA, Euphonium Dry-Hopped Saison and Plumpy Cherry Pie and intriguing brew made with sweet and tart cherries, graham crackers and Mexican vanilla beans.
