15 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: May 21-25

Beer gardens are opening, tap takeovers are happening and The Fermentorium celebrates a big birthday.

Wednesday, May 21

The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) is throwing a Summer Bash from 5 to 7 p.m. with burgers, hot dogs, games and more than three dozen beers from standouts like Toppling Goliath, Mikerphone, and more.

Sprecher’s Traveling Beer Garden lands at Greenfield Park (2028 S. 124th St.) and will be there through June 8.

Three Cellars (N72 W13400 Lund Ln., Menomonee Falls) is pouring four standout Phase Three Brewing beers from 4 to 7 p.m. The Pixels series includes a Phase Three beer and collabs with Trillium, North Park and Omnipollo.

Working Draft Beer Company is taking over the taps at Ray’s Bar (8930 W. North Ave.) from 4 to 10 p.m.

Build a cool succulent garden at Houseplant Happy Hour, taking place at The Tap Yard – Waukesha (1927 E. Sunset Dr.) at 6 p.m. The $60 ticket gets you all the tools you’ll need and a beverage.

Thursday, May 22

The War Memorial Beer Garden (750 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr.) opens for the season. The hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. They’re normally closed on Monday but will be open this weekend for Memorial Day.

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) offers samples from Bell’s Brewery from 2 to 4 p.m.

Friday, May 23

Try samples from Great Lakes Brewing at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, May 24

Hard to believe that The Fermentorium (7481 State Rd. 60, Cedarburg) has been in business for nearly a decade. They celebrate their ninth anniversary with a party from noon to 10 p.m. They’ll be pouring rarities and offering music and food.

It’s Stout Day at The Tap Yard – Waukesha. From noon to 8 p.m. they’ll be tapping a handful of limited releases ideal for the stout lover.

The Wisconsin Brewery Running Series continues at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.). The casual 5K run starts at 11 a.m. and tickets start at $45.

Component Brewing kicks off its residency at the Malone Park Beer Garden (16400 W. Al Stigler Pkwy., New Berlin) from noon to 6 p.m.

Draft & Vessel (7479 Harwood Ave.) is pouring beers from Hop Butcher, Young Blood, Supermoon and Working Draft during their fourth anniversary celebration. It all starts at 3 p.m.

Discount Liquor Milwaukee is pouring samples from Boulevard Brewing from noon to 3 p.m.

Sunday, May 25

Grilled Cheese Truck Day returns to The Tap Yard – Milwaukee (1555 RiverCenter Dr.) from noon to 6 p.m. Try cheesy creations from several food trucks.

Saturday, May 31: Lager & Friends comes to Gathering Place. The beer fest is in its seventh year.

Saturday, May 31: 3 Sheeps Brewing (1837 North Ave., Sheboygan) is throwing a party to celebrate a whopping 13 years in business. From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. they’ll be pouring limited release beers that pair nicely with live music and food.

Saturday, June 7: The Wisconsin & Beer Lovers Festival moves from Bayshore to the Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.) this year. It features libations from more than 30 Wisconsin breweries, cideries and wineries.

Thursday, June 19: The New Glarus beer dinner at Tess is already taking reservations. Call 414-964-8377 to make one, because it’s sure to sell out.
